On the left of Khumbu Valley, there is another beyul valley Gokyo. There exist series of high alpine lakes. Often known as Gokyo Valley Trek and Gokyo Lake Trek, it is shorter than regular Lukla to Everest Base Camp Trekking. Also the elevation at Gokyo RI is the highest measuring 5364 m from the sea level. Gokyo RI offer fascinating view of Choyou, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu. It is an excellent eleven days trek, with multiple options for extending the trip. You can either traverse to Everest via Chola Pass or to Thame via Renjo La Pass.
