Following the footsteps of first successful Everest Expedition Team, many people had trekked Everest Base Camp from Jiri. This route was used from trekking for a long time, until airport in Lukla was operational. Many people also understood this trail as Tenzing Norgay Edmund Hillary Trek, as they were the crucial part of the first successful Everest Expedition.
This is a long trek from Jiri to Lukla, frequent up and down, best described as ‘Nepali Flat’. A weeklong walk to Lukla will keep you highly acclimatize for further elevation gain in Khumbu. Trekkers use Jiri as a start point and exit from Lukla. In general it could be either twenty days long itinerary, or might be twenty-eight days. Depend on your end point, Lukla or Jiri.
